Tap the + button in the top right corner of the main screen. Fill in the recipe name, ingredients, instructions, and other details. Tap "Add" to save your recipe.
RecipeBox uses iCloud to sync your recipes automatically. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID on all your devices and that iCloud is enabled in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.
Check that: 1) You're signed into iCloud on all devices, 2) iCloud Drive is enabled, 3) RecipeBox has permission to use iCloud, and 4) You have enough iCloud storage. Try closing and reopening the app.
When creating or editing a recipe, tap the photo area at the top of the form. You can choose a photo from your library or take a new one with your camera.
Go to Settings on your iPhone > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > RecipeBox > Cancel Subscription. You'll continue to have access to Premium features until the end of your billing period.
Yes! Open a recipe and tap the share button to send it via Messages, Mail, or other apps. Recipients will receive the recipe as text that they can save to their own RecipeBox.
Go to Settings (gear icon) > Restore Purchases. This will restore any previous Premium subscription or lifetime purchase associated with your Apple ID.
Yes, if you have iCloud enabled, your recipes are automatically backed up to your iCloud account. They're also included in your device backup.
Open the recipe you want to delete, tap the menu button (...) in the top right, and select "Delete Recipe." Confirm to permanently remove it.
Yes! All your recipes are stored locally on your device and are available offline. Changes will sync to iCloud when you're back online.
RecipeBox offers a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Start your trial through the app, and if you cancel before it ends, you won't be charged. After the trial, your subscription will automatically continue at your chosen plan's rate.
Cooking Mode is a Premium feature that guides you through each step of a recipe with large, easy-to-read text. It includes built-in timers, ingredient scaling, and keeps your screen on while you cook.
Go to the Meal Plan tab and tap any day to add recipes to your weekly plan. Drag and drop recipes between days, and assign them to breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks. Premium feature.
From the Shopping tab, tap "Generate from Meal Plan" to automatically create a shopping list from your planned meals. Ingredients are combined intelligently and grouped by category. Premium feature.
Yes! On any recipe detail page, use the +/- buttons next to the serving size to adjust the number of servings. All ingredient quantities will automatically scale.
The AI Recipe Generator uses Apple Intelligence to create custom recipes based on ingredients you have. Enter your available ingredients, select a cuisine style and dietary preferences, and AI will generate a complete recipe with instructions. Requires iPhone 15 Pro or later, or iPad/Mac with M1 chip. Pantry Mode lets you add ingredients you have on hand, then finds recipes you can make with those ingredients. It shows match percentages and highlights what's missing. Great for reducing food waste! Premium feature.
In Cooking Mode, tap the speaker icon to enable voice guidance. Your device will read each step aloud as you navigate through the recipe. You can adjust the speech rate in voice settings. Premium feature.
Collections let you organize recipes into custom groups like "Weeknight Dinners", "Party Food", or "Holiday Recipes". Create a collection from the Collections tab, choose an icon and color, then add recipes from any recipe's detail page. Premium feature.
Use the Share Extension! When viewing a recipe on a website in Safari, tap the Share button and select "RecipeBox". The app will parse the recipe and save it to your collection. Premium users get unlimited imports; free users get 3 per month.
The AI Recipe Generator requires Apple Intelligence, which needs an iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an iPad/Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 chip or newer). Older devices don't have the required neural engine for on-device AI processing.
Install RecipeBox on your iPhone, and the Watch app will automatically appear on your Apple Watch. Use it to browse recipes, view ingredients, and follow cooking steps right from your wrist.
Yes! RecipeBox supports Siri Shortcuts. Try saying "Show me a random recipe in RecipeBox" or "What can I make quickly with RecipeBox". You can also create custom shortcuts in the Shortcuts app.
